A dialogue between sculpture and movement

This work-in-progress explores a dialogue between choreography and sculpture to reflect on structures of gender in women’s gymnastics. It is the result of a collaborative residency between Klaudia Wittmann and sculptor & interdisciplinary artist Lara Ritosa-Roberts. In the performance, Klaudia experiments with movement languages that emerge directly from an engagement with materials as co-creators.

This research is supported by KWAM Collective, Morley College Chelsea Centre for Creative Industries, the Centre for Dance Research (Coventry University) and Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership.

The work has been shared in various settings and is continuing to evolve through live performance at amongst others Rose Lipman Building (London), Riverside Studios (London), Adelaide Salon (Brighton), Somers Gallery (London).
